PERSONALIZE YOUR BIBALL
Add Glass or Acrylic Rhinestone Lettering
Do you have a favorite symbol or style? It’s easy to add style
and personality to your BibAlls with rhinestones.
Follow these simple directions to add rhinestone lettering to your
BibAlls.
| What you will need:
Paper, straight pins, ruler, glass or acrylic rhinestones,
jewelry glue, a small lid to hold glue and toothpicks. (Fig. 1)
Rhinestones are available in various sizes
at most craft stores. The number of bags you will need and the
size of rhinestones will depend on the size of your lettering
or design, your preferences and the sizes available. |

your BibAlls |
| Letter Size. Decide
what height you want your lettering. Use a ruler to draw two,
straight, parallel lines on paper. The width between the lines
will be the height of the lettering. Next, lightly write the word/words
between the parallel lines on the paper until you get the lettering
to look the way you want. (Fig 2.) |
|
Fig. 2 Determine the size of your letters
then draw the lettering. This will be your “pattern” |
| Find the Center of
Your Lettering. Count the number of letters in your word/words.
If you have more than one word, count each space between words
as one letter. Divide the total number of letters/spaces in half.
Count out letters in your word or words to that halfway mark.
Your “middle mark” may end up in the center of a letter
or on the space between words. Mark that middle point above the
letter or space with a pencil. (Fig. 3) |

| Mark the Rhinestone
Placement. Using your pencil, mark “dots”
on the letters to indicate where each rhinestone will be placed.

| Center
Your Design. Fold your BibAlls in half lengthwise. Place
a straight pin at the neck at the halfway point. (Fig. 5) |

|
Lay the BibAlls out so the
front is flat and straight. Decide how far down from the neck
edge you want your lettering to be and place a straight pin lengthwise
to mark that point. (Fig. 6)
Fold the bottom up to where you just placed
the straight pin and mark each edge with a straight pin.
Cut out the paper “pattern” you
wrote your lettering on; cut close to outside edges of the parallel
lines.
Place your paper “pattern” on the
BibAlls where the lettering will go. Align the top edge of paper
so it is touching the top edge of the straight pin you placed
for the top of the lettering. Pin the paper down on either side
to hold it in place. |

lettering will be |
| Next, use straight pins to
mark the outside edge of the top and bottom parallel lines. Place
straight pins lengthwise as close to outside edges of paper as
possible. These pins will serve as your guide to ensure all the
letters are the same height. (Fig. 7)
Unpin the paper pattern and set it aside. You
now have top and bottom guidelines for your lettering. Place your
paper pattern just above the pins marking the top parallel line.
Line the paper up so that the center point of the paper is aligned
with center pin on neck edge of your BibAlls.
Using the pin marking the center point on neck
and the paper as guides, find the center of your pin guide lines
and place a straight pin vertically at that point. The first letter
you make will be the “center point” letter or space
you marked on your paper guide.
Place Rhinestones. Put a small
amount of jewelry glue on a piece of paper. Your first letter
(or space) will be at the “center point” you marked
with the straight pin. If it was a space, move to the
right the correct distance and you are ready to make
your first letter. |

to create guidelines and ensure you lettering is straight |
| Cut open the rhinestones packaging.
Place the rhinestones facing UP so the sparkly side is showing.
Using a toothpick, take a small amount of jewelry glue and touch
on bib where the top of the letter will touch line. (Fig. 8) |
|
Fig. 8. Place your rhinestones |
| Next, use the sticky end of
toothpick to pick up a rhinestone and lay it on top of spot you
just made with jewelry glue. Press down and rhinestone will stick.
You have about 30 seconds to adjust the rhinestone to your liking.
(Fig. 8a) |
|
Fig. 8a. Place your rhinestones |
| Continue using the same method
to make the rest of the letter. Follow the marks on your paper
guide indicating where each rhinestone in the letter will be.
(Fig 9) |
|

Fig. 9. Continue placing rhinestones to create
the letter |
| Use the same method to create
the letter to the right of the just completed letter. Refer to
your paper guide. Continue until you complete all the letters
to the right of the center point. (Fig. 10) |
|
Fig. 10. Create the next letter to the right
of the center point |
| Next, make the letters to the
left of the center point moving backwards to the left.
In this manner, you will make the letters from center and moving
to the left as you complete each one. (Fig. 11) |
|
Fig. 11. Next, create the letters to the
left of center. |
| |
|
|
| After you
finish all the letters remove the straight pins from the neck
edge and sides. (Fig. 12)
Allow the rhinestones to dry thoroughly before
moving or folding your BibAlls. Once glue has dried, it is safe
to machine wash and dry your BibAlls according to manufacturer’s
directions.
